Graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, and went to French Engineering School EFREI for exchange, where he, as the first Chinese graduate, was awarded the French Diplôme d’Ingénieur. He worked as an engineer at SchlumbergerSema (Atos Origin) France then was employed as a part-time instructor in software engineering at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam), and then worked full-time as the Chinese regional representative before obtaining his Ph.D. in engineering sciences and serving as the Dean of Cnam of Sino-French Institute DGUT-CNAM. He is a member of the Board of Editors of International Journal for Simulation and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization. He was a professor at ECE and ESIEA.
