The Center for Studies and Research in Computer Science and Communication (CEDRIC) brings together research activities in digital sciences carried out at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (Cnam). The permanent researchers of CEDRIC are also all teachers of computer science, applied mathematics or electronics.
The laboratory conducts basic and applied research. Cédric maintains s privileged relationships with many laboratories in the Paris region, in the provinces and abroad. The laboratory participates in fundamental or technological research contracts (transfer and implementation of research results, industrial contracts) as well as in French and European research network contracts (ANR, IST, etc.). The laboratory participated in the creation of the Cap Digital competitiveness cluster of which it is a member.
The laboratory currently has 166 members including 75 permanent teacher-researchers and 5 administrative staff. The annual budget (excluding permanent salaries, foreign grants and scholarships, CIFRE) is around 1.4 M € HT, 12% of which is allocated by the Ministry, the rest coming from contracts or grants obtained by researchers.
Cédric has been recognized by the French Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education as a Home Team (EA 1395 first, currently EA 4629) since its creation. Its current size and maturity make it the most important research laboratory of Cnam and one of the recognized computer laboratories in the Paris region.
