[HHG15] DEALING WITH FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS IN LINKED DATAConférence Internationale avec comité de lecture : IWICM 2015, October 2015, pp.5, Prague, Czech Republic,Mots clés: Semantic Web, Ontology, Linked Data, Interpersonal Relationships
Résumé:
Many web resources require an accurate representation of family relationships.
This paper presents PersonLink, an ontology that defines
rigorously and precisely different family relationships, and takes into
account the differences that may exist between cultures and new relationships
emerging in our societies nowadays. We consider that
the transition from one culture/language to another cannot be solved
with a simple translation of terms, specifically when concepts do not
intersect in different cultures, and the PersonLink ontology provides
a solution based on multicultural meta-ontology of concepts and associated
mechanisms. Rules are provided to infer new links and/or
check inconsistencies in the inputs. This ontology has been applied
in the context of the CAPTAIN MEMO memory prosthesis for elderly,
for modeling, storing and reasoning on “family relationshipsâ€
links. To validate the scaling, an application has been performed on
linked datasets from Freebase and DBpedia.
