Résumé: The mobile telecommunications are nowadays an instrument without which the majority of the civilized population can’t live. In Portugal there are three major mobile operators. In this work we use the data of one of those operators, that was collected directly over weekly reports generated automatically by an Internet Proxy platform. Our interest is on the forecast of the traffic (number of calls) measured in Gigabytes/week. Several approaches were applied, such as Multilinear Regression Model (an OLS model using as explanatory variables number of users and number of demands), naïve, exponential smooth and Box-Jenkins models. Using some measures of error, we have chosen the best model to forecast the data for a not too great length of time.
