Résumé:
A reuse-oriented software application development process is presented in this paper. This process consists of two sub-processes, respectively for the application design and the component design. In each sub-process, a stage for the generic design is introduced to produce so-called "generic applications" or "generic components", which provide a common structure and behavior for the designs of other “similar” applications or components. The said application development process leads to a higher level of design reuse, the application reuse, instead of only the component reuse that has already been widely discussed in the literature. A procedural scenario is proposed to provide guidelines for the creation of generic applications and components.
An example, the design of a room booking management system, is used throughout in this paper to illustrate the development process.
