The FoKon: Examination system

1 Introduction

Fokon is a set of tools to produce programming exams with automatic correction, marking and reporting . It allows to quickly produce programming exams and quiz. The correction mechanism of the exams is based on a set of test that may be either automatically and randomly generated or manually provided. We use some tricky comparison to adjust the marks. At the end of the exam students are automatically disconnected and a tarball of there work is sent to the teacher. At IIE we also use The YaKa environment to manage our computer park. For examination this allow to produce and install very quickly small working system without network (in fact only some restricted route to send the tarball or other interaction).

2 State of FoKon

FoKon has been intensively used at the IIE engineering school for severals years notably during C programming test, lex and yacc programming test and middleware programming test. This intensive use permitted to fix a lot of bugs bug but do not hesitate to report all "strange comportment"
