[LRS18] Global power amplifier efficiency evaluation with PAPR reduction method for post-OFDM waveforms

Résumé: This paper provides simulation results to establish a realistic power budget of a transmitter by taking into account different post-OFDM waveforms along with a non linear high power amplifier (HPA). The waveforms used are the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), the weighted overlap and add OFDM (WOLA-OFDM) and Block-Filtered OFDM (BFOFDM) coupled with a Peak to Average Power Reduction (PAPR) method so as to increase the HPA efficiency. Simulation results show that there is a clear trade-off between the PAPR reduction gain and the overall power budget of the transmitter.
