Résumé: Several frameworks and taxonomies have been proposed to aid researchers in applying design science research (DSR) principles to evaluate the knowledge produced. This paper examines two such efforts, the evaluation methods taxonomy and the genres of inquiry framework. In an effort to derive a more complete evaluation standard, we integrate the taxonomy and framework based upon various knowledge types. Doing so results in three artifacts. The first contribution, the integrated framework, refines the genres of inquiry framework with six knowledge types suggested in the literature and integrates criteria sets using mapping and merging techniques. The second contribution is a guidance scheme that helps in determining relevant evaluation criteria, based on the type of DSR contribution and the role of the evaluator (researcher, author, reader, or reviewer). Finally, the approach for defining the framework, including the integration algorithm, is also an artifact.
